Vacuum Pyknometer 10 Litres
THEORETICAL MAXIMUM SPECIFIC GRAVITY OF UNCOMPACTED BITUMINOUS PAVING MIXTURES (RICE-TEST) Transparent plexiglass made, complete with valve and gauge, it is utilized for a rapid determination of asphalt content, bulk specific gravity of aggregates, the max. theoretic specific gravity of bituminous uncompacted road mixtures and the per cent air voids in compacted mixtures. To perform the test a minimum ultimate vacuum of 30 mm/Hg is requested. Dimensions: Ø 300mm x 450mm high Weight: 8 kg approx. B067-01N: Same as model B067N but with a higher useful height (270 mm) conforming to TP Asphalt StB T5 standard.

Asphalt Mix Analyzer - Automatic closed-loop system
The Asphalt Mix Analyzer (AMA) is Matest’s flagship solution for fully automatic bitumen extraction and recovery from asphalt mixtures, designed to maximize lab productivity, reduce test time, and ensure operator safety. With its "All-in-one" closed-loop cycle, the AMA automates every phase - from pre-wash to drying - while preventing the release of toxic solvent fumes, thanks to its sealed and ventilated system. AMA is the ultimate choice for modern laboratories seeking a safer, faster, and more sustainable solution for analyzing bituminous mixes and reclaimed asphalt (RA). The solvent-based system (compatible with tetrachloroethylene, trichloroethylene, or methylene chloride) separates aggregates, filler, and bitumen with unmatched precision. The recovered filler is collected via high-speed centrifugation, while the bitumen solution can be processed for further analysis (e.g. DSR, DTT, BBR). Management is intuitive and flexible via a 7’’ touch-screen interface, where operators can customize test profiles, manage multiple cycles, and monitor safety alerts in real time. Optional connection to a rotary evaporator or integrated balance expands its capabilities, making AMA a complete extraction platform.

Automatic grinding machine
The automatic grinding machine is designed to grind and polish concrete cube and cylinder specimens, blocks, natural stones, rocks, ceramic materials etc. Specimens are easily fixed to the table by proper locking stirrups (see accessories) allowing them to grind at a time: n° 3 cube specimens 100 mm side, or n° 3 cube specimens 150 mm side, or n° 2 cube specimens 200 mm side, or n° 2 cylinder specimens Ø 100x200, 110x220, 150x300, 160x320 mm, or n° 1 block with max. dimensions 390x250 mm The radial movement of the head is equipped with an end-of-stroke system, granting fully automatic displacement in both directions. The column is completely protected against the abrasive dust. The vertical lowering of the grinding head is achieved with infinitesimal adjustments by operating on the top handwheel having 0.05 mm graduations. The machine, made from a rugged plate, is supplied complete with a control panel, coolant/decantation tank (by water and emulsifying oil), motor pump, set of abrasive sectors, and safety chip guard that when removed, stops automatically the machine. The standard supply does not include the locking stirrups and the diamond sectors (8 pieces) that must be ordered separately.

Elastic modulus determination
The Matest Elastic Modulus Determination system is an automatic solution designed to measure the Young's modulus of concrete with high precision. It can be used with high-stability frames of 2000, 3000, 4000 or 5000 kN capacity, coupled with the Servo-Plus Progress automatic servo-controlled system housed in a separate pyramidal frame. The system includes a hydraulic installation with a high-performance valve controlled by the digital unit. This allows automatic control of load increase and decrease rates, maintaining a constant load when required. The electronic measuring system features a 32-bit microprocessor managing up to 8 high-resolution channels for load cells or strain gauge transducers. The UTMII software enables automatic data acquisition and processing, allowing the determination of both the initial and stabilized secant modulus of elasticity, fully compliant with EN 12390-13 Standard. To perform the Elastic Modulus test, in combination with an automatic high-stability frame, the following items are required. Watch the Matest video tutorial on How to Perform an Elastic Modulus Test on Concrete, according to EN 12390-13 and ASTM C469.

EN STANDARD - HIGH STABILITY COMPRESSION MACHINES
Matest High Stability Compression Machines are engineered to comply with the most demanding international standards, including EN 12390-4, BS 1881:115, DIN 51220, UNI 6686-3, NF P18-411, UNE 83304, ASTM C39, and AASHTO T22. Their four-column prestressed frame ensures outstanding rigidity and uniform load distribution across the specimen surface. Every component, from the piston and cylinder to the spherical seat and compression platens, is manufactured with strict precision tolerances to guarantee high stability verification and accurate force distribution. Each machine undergoes a certified self-alignment verification (foot-meter test) using an electric strain load column connected to a dedicated datalogger, ensuring full compliance with EN stability requirements. The result is a precise, repeatable, and true strength measurement, with uniform specimen failure and maximum reliability in every compression test.
